The Fall 2009 series focuses on the perspective of the interpreting physician.
This season we asked a top luminary PET physician to provide the insight
and expertise to make your PET interpreting physician the “PET Champion”
in your center. Dr. Michael Kipper, an associate clinical professor of radiology
at the University of California at San Diego, is actively involved with growing
the PET business and advancing the field through his research and teaching
milestones. The program will consist of a 60 minute Webinar that can be experienced from the convenience of your own conference room or office.

Meet your featured presenters
Michael S. Kipper.
Associate clinical professor of radiology - University of California at San Diego
Michael S. Kipper, M.D. is actively involved with clinical
PET and growing patient volumes in multi-speciality
practices. He established one of the first mobile systems
in the United States and is experienced in outpatient PET,
hospital-based imaging, research, teaching and consulting.
In one center, he grew the number of PET studies from 14
per month to more than 80 per month in less than one
year. Dr. Kipper is involved in many professional societies,
including the Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Academy
of Molecular Imaging, the American Society of Cardiology
and many other educational venues with his colleagues
in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. He also has
published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles,
multiple book chapters and most recently, co-authored
the Clinical Atlas of PET imaging.
With years of experience in private pratice and clinical
PET, Dr. Kipper has devoted a significant amount of time
to teaching, earning the Outstanding Clinical Teacher
award at UCSD a total of four times. He is a reviewer for
numerous medical journals and chairs one of the few
community-based Radioactive Drug Research Committees
in the United States. Dr. Kipper received his medical
degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in
1971. Subsequent training included a residency in Internal
Medicine, fellowship in Endocrinology and fellowship
in Nuclear Medicine. He is presently an associate clinical
professor of radiology at UCSD.
