NeuroQ™

Improved confidence and differentiation of your PET brain imaging services - exclusively from Cardinal Health

Establish a local differentiator for your PET brain imaging services by providing region specific at-a-glance visual information of abnormal regions. Quantitative comparisons to a normals database are presented in a color map overlay. Unique image presentation creates an effective marketing tool with a color coded display that can be included with a PET report.

NeuroQ™ is distributed and fully supported by Cardinal Health - including installation, applications training, technical support and ongoing upgrades and improvements.

NeuroQ example

Many neurodegenerative diseases produce significant alterations in the brain that are often not detectable by neurological tests or with structural imaging. Since treatment is specific to the type of dementia, it is critical that the diagnosis is accurate. Quantification tools – like NeuroQTM - support the visual interpretation of the PET physician with data and a format to display his/her results.

Quantification Method

  • NeuroQ™ compares the activity of brain regions in an individual scan to regional activity values derived from a database of normal scans through rapid automated quantification of 240 standardized regions of interest (sROI’s).
  • Abnormal regions are identified based on the number of standard deviations between the patient scan and the normal data for a particular region.
  • The data are summarized and displayed in a two-dimensional color-coded format as well as numeric tables, comparing the activity in each region of the patient’s brain to internal reference regions and to normalized activity values of a group of normal control patients.
  • If there is abnormal cerebral metabolic function, NeuroQ™ shows you at a glance the degree of abnormality and demonstrates the statistical significance of the findings.

Normals Database Source:

  • NeuroQ™ analysis is based off a normals database of 50 patients contributed by Daniel Silverman, M.D., PhD. from the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Display Capabilities

  • View a complete patient data set of transaxial slices.
  • Display side-by-side original, normal and reformatted transaxial slices.
  • Demonstrate areas of non-significant (blue), intermediate (purple), and significant (red) hypometabolism within each transaxial slice.
  • Select to view either hypometabolic and hypermetabolic regions.
  • Choose a reference area for internal normalization (Pons, Cerebellum, Sensorimotor, Thalamus, or Whole Brain).

PET Report Display Options

  • Provide quantitative output of regional data for abnormal areas in both visual and text formats.
  • Generate comprehensive color-coded image presentations.
  • Print capability for sharing results with referring physicians and families.
