Confidential Site Specific Review and Recommendations

Cardinal Health's Local Consultation Service is unmatched in the industry due to an exclusive partnership with NMD Healthcare Consultants. This partnership enables us to deliver a unique service based on years of successful experience in reimbursement consultation. This consultation service helps to:

Provide accurate, local reimbursement information.
Facilitate compliance with local reimbursement policies and procedures.
Inform your staff of solutions to specific issues with local carriers.
Improve confidence in billing and coding practices.

The consultation process starts with the collection of data. Program participants provide:

50 sample PET reimbursement claim forms representing every type of PET procedure performed at the site.
All medical dictation reports corresponding to the sample claims.
A charge master list of PET procedures.
A facility profile data sheet describing site-specific demographics.

After the site data has been collected, Cardinal Health’s reimbursement team engages in research with local Medicare Fiscal Intermediaries or Part B Carriers to help insure the facility is in compliance with the local reimbursement policies and procedures.

Then, an on-site consultation is scheduled to review the team’s recommendations for optimizing the facility’s reimbursement processes. The NMD consultant is typically an accredited radiologist experienced in PET imaging and reporting. A review for appropriate report terminology is included in the consult. All recommendations are based on the site’s own reports and data, and are documented with references of up-to-date local Medicare policy.
